Hello dear parents and friends,
This week, as we continued our Unit of Inquiry about animals, our class enjoyed a special educational trip to the Animal Fossil Museum. This exciting field trip gave our young learners the opportunity to extend their understanding beyond the classroom through real-life observation and inquiry.
As they explored the museum, the children observed a variety of fascinating animal fossils. They eagerly looked at the different fossil displays, asked thoughtful questions, and shared their ideas about what they noticed. It was wonderful to see their curiosity grow as they made connections between the animals they are learning about.
Throughout the visit, our students demonstrated the IB Learner Profile attributes of being Inquirers and Thinkers. They carefully observed, wondered about what they saw, and actively engaged in discussions with their teachers and friends. This meaningful experience encouraged them to ask questions, investigate, and deepen their understanding.

今週、私たちはUnit-2 の動物に関する探究学習の一環として、動物化石博物館への特別な校外学習に出かけました。この素晴らしい体験を通じて、子供たちは教室を飛び出し、観察や探究活動を通して学びを深めることができました。
博物館で子供たちは多種多様で魅力的な動物の化石や剥製を熱心に観察しました。様々な展示に見入り、鋭い質問を投げかけ、気づいたことを互いに共有する姿が見られました。学習中の動物たちと目の前の剥製や化石とのつながりを見出し、子供たちの好奇心がどんどん広がっていく様子は、見ていて本当に素晴らしいものでした。
見学中、子供たちはIB（国際バカロレア）の学習者像にある「探究する人」や「考える人」としての資質を存分に発揮していました。じっくりと観察し、目にしたものについて疑問を抱き、先生や友達と積極的に対話を行っていました。こうした有意義な体験は、子供たちの「問いかける力」や「探究心」を刺激し、理解をより深めるきっかけとなりました。

Learning the Letter G
This week, our young learners continued building their alphabet knowledge by learning the Letter G and its sound. We began the lesson by reviewing the letters we have learned so far, helping the children recall each letter and its corresponding sound with confidence.
To make our learning fun and interactive, we played an Alphabet Fishing game. The children took turns “catching” letter cards from A to G and identifying the letter and their sound. This engaging activity allowed us to review previously learned letters while assessing how well the children remembered them. It was wonderful to see many students confidently recognize the letters, while others showed great perseverance as they practiced and improved.
Through this hands-on activity, our students strengthened their letter recognition, phonics awareness, listening skills, and confidence in using English. We are proud of their enthusiasm and look forward to continuing our alphabet journey together
今週、子供たちは「G」の文字とその音を学び、アルファベットへの理解をさらに深めました。まずはこれまでに習った文字を復習し、それぞれの文字と音を自信を持って思い出せるようにすることから始めました。
楽しく参加型の学習にするために、「アルファベット釣り」ゲームを行いました。子供たちは交代でAからGまでの文字カードを「釣り上げ」、その文字の名前と音を答えていきました。この楽しい活動を通じて、以前習った文字を復習しつつ、知識の定着度を確認することができました。多くの生徒が自信を持って文字を認識する姿が見られたほか、中には粘り強く練習を重ねて上達していく素晴らしい姿も見られました。
こうした体験型の活動を通して、生徒たちは文字の認識力、フォニックス（文字と音の対応）への理解、リスニング力、そして英語を使うことへの自信を育むことができました。子供たちの意欲的な姿勢を誇らしく思うとともに、これからも一緒にアルファベットを学ぶ旅を続けていけることを楽しみにしています。
Animals and Their Needs: Food （動物が必要とするもの）
To deepen our inquiry about animals, we continued exploring one of their basic needs—food. Through this learning experience, the children discovered that, just like people, animals need the food to survive.
As part of the activity, the students carefully cut out pictures of different animal foods, giving them the opportunity to practice holding scissors correctly and cutting along straight lines. They then matched and pasted each food to the corresponding animal, thinking carefully about what each animal likes to eat.
It was wonderful to see many of our students demonstrate the IB Learner Profile attribute of being Knowledgeable as they recalled their own experiences. They confidently identified foods such as carrots for rabbits, bones for dogs, grass for giraffes, honey for beers, and bananas for monkeys. This hands-on activity not only strengthened their understanding of animals’ needs but also developed their fine motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and confidence in making connections between their learning and everyday life.
動物についての探究を深めるため、私たちは動物の基本的なニーズの一つである「食べ物」に注目した学習を続けました。この活動を通して、子供たちは人間と同じように、動物も生きていくために食べ物を必要としていることに気づきました。
活動の一環として、生徒たちは様々な動物の食べ物の絵を丁寧に切り抜きました。この作業は、ハサミの正しい持ち方や、線に沿って切る技術を練習する良い機会となりました。その後、それぞれの動物が何を好んで食べるかをよく考えながら、食べ物の絵を対応する動物と結びつけて貼り付けました。
生徒たちが自身の経験を思い出しながら、IB（国際バカロレア）の学習者像の一つである「知識のある人（Knowledgeable）」としての姿を見せてくれたことは、大変素晴らしいことでした。彼らは、ウサギにはニンジン、犬には骨、キリンには草、熊にはハチミツ、サルにはバナナといった食べ物を、自信を持って選び取っていました。こうした体験型の活動は、動物のニーズへの理解を深めるだけでなく、微細運動能力や問題解決能力を養い、さらには学習内容と日常生活を結びつけることへの自信を育むものとなりました。
