Hi everyone! Welcome to Rainbow’s first blog of August. It goes without saying that the highlight of our week was the morning cirle open day. Thank you so much for taking the time off your busy schedules to witness your children’s life at school. Eveyone was so proud to present the sea animal crafts they made with you in front of their peers. You were all so very great COMMUNICATORS and THINKERS, as well as KNOWLEDGEABLE!

8月最初のRainbowクラスのブログへようこそ。
今週一番のハイライトは、言うまでもなくモーニングサークルのオープンデーでした。お忙しい中、お時間を作ってお子さまの園での様子を見に来てくださり、本当にありがとうございました。
みんな、お友だちの前で保護者の皆さんと一緒に作った海の生き物の製作を、とても誇らしそうに発表していました。
保護者の皆さんも、子どもたちと一緒に積極的に参加してくださり、Communicators、Thinkers、そしてKnowledgeablとして素晴らしい姿を見せてくださいました！お忙しい中のご参加、本当にありがとうございました！

Water play continues to be everyone’s favorite!
Emergency drill
We had an emergency drill of a situation where an earthquake occurs while playing in the pool.
During the earthquake drill, the earthquake notification sound was played while the students were in the pool. Some students immediately recognized the sound from previous earthquake experiences. The students were quickly guided to gather together in an open area, where they were instructed to protect their heads with their arms while staff ensured the surroundings were safe from falling objects. Once the simulated shaking had stopped, a headcount was conducted to confirm that everyone was accounted for. Before drying off and returning indoors, the students were shown visual aids and given a simple explanation of what had happened and why the safety procedures were important.
The students responded exceptionally well throughout the drill. They showed that they were knowledgeable by recognizing the earthquake alarm and recalling what it meant. They also demonstrated that they were caring by staying together and looking out for one another, and balanced by remaining calm and following instructions carefully despite being in an unfamiliar situation. Their responsible actions and positive attitudes helped the drill run smoothly and reflected their growing understanding of how to stay safe during emergencies.
プール遊び中に地震が発生したことを想定した避難訓練を行いました。
訓練では、子どもたちがプールに入っている最中に地震の警報音を流しました。以前の避難訓練を覚えていた子どもたちの中には、すぐにその音に気付く姿も見られました。子どもたちは職員の誘導で安全な場所に素早く集まり、腕で頭を守る姿勢を取りました。職員が周囲に落下物などの危険がないことを確認した後、揺れが収まったことを想定して人数確認を行い、全員の安全を確認しました。その後、体を拭いて室内へ戻る前に、イラストを使いながら「何が起きたのか」「なぜこのような行動をするのか」を分かりやすく説明しました。
子どもたちは訓練を通してとても立派な姿を見せてくれました。地震の警報音に気付き、その意味を思い出して行動できたことから、Knowledgeableの姿が見られました。また、友だちと一緒に行動し、お互いを気にかけながら避難できたことは、Caringの姿でした。さらに、慣れない状況でも落ち着いて先生の話を聞き、指示に従って行動できたことは、Balancedの姿につながっていました。子どもたち一人ひとりの責任ある行動と前向きな姿勢のおかげで、訓練を安全に行うことができ、防災への意識もさらに高まったように感じます。
