To start the week, Shooting Star students drew pictures of their whole family, to give them a creative way to think about and express their roles in their families, and see how different everyone’s pictures were. On Friday when we went to the big park, we saw many different students with their school groups, and it was amazing to notice the variety of schools and families. We saw different sized groups, different age groups and different family types. This real-life experience ties in perfectly with our unit and shows how families and groups can look different, but still share important roles, such as parents and teachers caring for children and students, or children caring for each other. Ask your children who they saw in the park!
週の初めに、シューティングスターの生徒たちは家族全員の絵を描きました。これは、家族の中での自分の役割について考え、表現する創造的な方法であり、みんなの絵がどれほど違うかを見る機会にもなりました。金曜日に大きな公園に行ったとき、学校のグループで来ているたくさんの生徒たちを見かけました。学校や家族の多様性に驚きました。グループの規模、年齢、家族構成も様々でした。この実体験は、私たちの単元にぴったりと結びついており、家族やグループは見た目は違っても、親や教師が子どもや生徒の面倒を見たり、子ども同士がお互いを思いやったりするなど、重要な役割を共有していることを示しています。お子さんに公園で誰を見たか聞いてみてください！
Students had a great time in the park jumping together on the moon bounce or trampoline, and taking brave risks climbing or swinging on ropes up high. Then at the end of the trip, we unwrapped lunches for a healthy picnic together in the grass!
生徒たちは公園で、ムーンバウンスやトランポリンで一緒に飛び跳ねたり、高いロープに登ったり、ブランコに乗ったりして、楽しい時間を過ごしました。そして最後には、芝生の上でみんなでヘルシーなピクニックランチを楽しみました！
Later, Shooting Star had a great time exploring what it means to be good students, family and friends with an “I am” and “I can” worksheet. They sorted through and colored pictures showing different actions and talked about how they can be caring, helpful, and always try their best. It was a fun way for them to see all the positive things they can do every day!
その後、シューティングスターの子どもたちは、「私は～です」「私は～できます」というワークシートを使って、良い生徒、良い家族、良い友達とはどういうことかを楽しく学びました。子どもたちは、さまざまな行動を示す絵を分類して色を塗り、思いやりを持ち、助け合い、常に最善を尽くす方法について話し合いました。これは、子どもたちが毎日できるポジティブなことをすべて楽しく学ぶ良い機会となりました！
They also had a blast learning some lively new choreography in Dance Class and enjoyed working together as a team to coordinate their moves. As they are learning their roles as students and friends they had to practice how to be good listeners and help each other match up their claps and steps. It was a fun way for them to build teamwork skills and have a great time moving to the rhythm!
ダンスクラスでは、子どもたちは活気あふれる新しい振り付けを楽しく学び、チームとして協力して動きを合わせることを楽しみました。生徒として、そして友達としての役割を学ぶ中で、お互いの話を聞き、手拍子やステップを合わせる練習もしました。チームワークのスキルを身につけ、リズムに合わせて体を動かす楽しい時間となりました！
