This week was filled with exciting learning experiences, discoveries, and special moments for the Savanna students. From observing the growth of plants in our garden to preparing for and participating in School Open Day, the children showed enthusiasm, responsibility, and confidence throughout the week.

The eggplant and bell pepper seedlings planted by the Savanna students continue to grow bigger each day. As we observed the plants, the children made several interesting discoveries. Tiny bell peppers have started to appear, and some of the flowers have begun to wither. They also took responsibility for caring for the seedlings by helping one another water them each day.

今週のサバンナクラスは、わくわくするような学びや発見、そして特別な体験がたくさん詰まった一週間となりました。園庭で育てている植物の成長を観察したり、参観日に向けて準備や発表を行ったりする中で、子どもたちは意欲的に、そして責任感と自信を持って活動に取り組む姿を見せてくれました。

サバンナさん達が植えたナスとピーマンの苗は、毎日少しずつ大きく成長しています。植物を観察する中で、子どもたちはさまざまな発見をしました。小さなピーマンの実がなり始めていることや、花がしおれ始めていることにも気づきました。また、毎日の水やりでは友達同士で協力しながら苗のお世話をし、大切に育てています。

On Monday, we visited the park with our Rainforest friends. The children always look forward to our park days because they enjoy spending time and playing with their older friends. They had a wonderful time chasing each other, collecting flowers, and engaging in imaginative camping and barbecue pretend play.

月曜日には、レインフォレストクラスのお友達と一緒に公園へ行きました。子どもたちは公園に行く日をいつも楽しみにしています。特に年上のお友達と一緒に遊べることをとても喜んでいます。この日は追いかけっこをしたり、お花を集めたり、キャンプやバーベキューごっこをしたりして、楽しい時間を過ごしました。

In preparation for Open Day, the children worked hard during role-play practice. We introduced props and movements, making the activities even more enjoyable and engaging. The students became increasingly independent and efficient in organizing their groups, roles, lines, and props. Their teamwork, cooperation, and dedication were wonderful to see.

参観日に向けて、子どもたちはロールプレイの練習を一生懸命頑張りました。自分たちでどんな小道具が必要かを考え準備したり、動きを取り入れたことで、活動はさらに楽しく、子どもたちにとってより魅力的なものになりました。

練習を重ねる中で、子どもたちはグループ分けや役割決め、セリフの確認、小道具の準備などを自分たちで進んで行えるようになり、より主体的に活動に取り組む姿が見られました。友達と協力しながら準備を進める姿や、最後まで頑張ろうとする熱心な姿勢はとても素晴らしく、子どもたちの成長を感じることができました。

On Thursday, we held our School Open Day, and the Savanna students were delighted to welcome their parents to school. They were excited to showcase what they had been working on and proudly demonstrated their beautiful singing voices and energetic dances. During the Morning Circle and UOI lessons, the children did their best to communicate in English and actively participate in classroom activities. Their confidence and effort were evident throughout the day. The highlight of Open Day was the family role-play presentation. After days of preparation, the children performed in front of their parents and friends. Some students felt a little shy when speaking about their roles and responsibilities in front of a larger audience, but they showed great courage by trying their best. Their hard work, determination, and willingness to step out of their comfort zones made the performance a success.

木曜日はいよいよ参観日！サバンナさん達は、大好きなお家の方に来てもらえることをとても楽しみにしていました。これまで取り組んできたことを見てもらえることにワクワクしながら、きれいな歌声や元気いっぱいのダンスを披露してくれました。

モーニングサークルやUOIのレッスンでは、子どもたちは英語でコミュニケーションを取ろうと一生懸命取り組み、積極的に活動に参加していました。その姿からは、自信や日頃の努力が感じられました。参観日のハイライトは、家族をテーマにしたロールプレイの発表！何日もかけて準備や練習を重ねた後、子どもたちはお家の方やお友達の前で堂々と発表することができました。大勢の人の前で自分の役割や責任について話すことに少し緊張したり恥ずかしそうにしたりする子もいましたが、それでも勇気を出して最後まで頑張る姿が見られました。

子どもたちの努力や粘り強さ、そして新しいことに挑戦しようとする気持ちが、この発表を大成功へと導いてくれました。私たちは、一人ひとりの成長した姿をとても誇りに思っています。ご参加いただいた保護者の皆様、温かく見守って下さりありがとうございます。

In Music lessons, the children have been singing the traditional Japanese song “Chatsumi” (Tea Picking Song) while performing accompanying hand motions. Clapping and moving their hands at the right timing provides great practice for both coordination and concentration.When they try the activity while facing a partner, it can be quite challenging to match their hand movements perfectly. However, the activity is so much fun that it always brings lots of smiles and laughter.

In melodica (pianica) practice, the children have begun playing simple melodies using the two notes Do (C) and Re (D). They learned to keep their hands curved as if holding a ball while playing the keys, and they were able to produce beautiful sounds with great success.

ミュージックレッスンでは、手遊びをつけた「茶摘み」の歌を歌っています。タイミングよく手をたたいたり、前に出したり、頭と体の体操になります。お友達と向かい合ってやってみると、手を合わせることはなかなか難しい。でもなんだか楽しくてみんな笑顔になっちゃいます。ピアニカは、「ド、レ」の２音を使った演奏を始めました。ボールを持つように手を丸めて弾くことを教わり、上手に音を奏でることが出来ました。

In Gym lessons, the children also participated in partner activities. Working together with a friend and sharing one ball, they practiced skills such as throwing and catching, as well as passing the ball under their legs. These activities allowed them to stay active while having fun and developing their cooperation skills.We also continued our regular bridge practice, which has become a familiar part of each lesson. This time, the children first practiced lifting their hips while keeping their backs on the floor. After that, they moved on to supporting themselves with their hands and lifting their hips higher to form a bridge. Little by little, more children are learning to straighten their arms and create a strong, beautiful bridge shape. We are delighted to see their strength and confidence growing with each lesson.

Gym lessonでもペアワークをしました。お友達と一つのボールを使って、投げてキャッチしたり、足の下でボールを受渡しするなどして楽しみながら体を動かしました。そして、毎回お決まりのブリッジの練習。今回はまず背中をつけて腰を持ち上げる練習をし、その後手をついて腰をもちあげる練習をしました。手を上手に伸ばし、きれいなブリッジを作れる子が少しずつ増えてきました！

We are incredibly proud of all the Savanna students for their hard work, enthusiasm, and positive attitudes this week. Open Day was a special opportunity for them to share their learning and growth with their families, and they rose to the occasion beautifully. Well done, everyone! You should be very proud of yourselves, and we are sure you made your parents proud and happy too. We look forward to more exciting learning adventures in the weeks ahead.

今週も、サバンナクラスの子どもたちが見せてくれた努力、意欲、そして前向きな姿勢をとても誇りに思っています。参観日は、子どもたちがこれまでの学びや成長を保護者の皆様に披露する特別な機会となりましたが、一人ひとりがその機会に素晴らしく応えてくれました。本当によく頑張りました！みなさんは、自分自身の頑張りを誇りに思ってください。そして、きっと保護者の皆様にも大きな喜びと感動を届けることができたことでしょう。
