What does it mean to be prepared? This week, our learners showed us that being prepared is not only about knowing what to do—it is also about being ready to face different situations with confidence.
Earlier this week, the whole campus participated in our regular Earthquake and Fire Drill. Together, we reviewed the dos and don’ts during emergencies, and the learners did an amazing job answering questions and remembering the safety procedures.

Then came Friday.
While everyone was following their usual routine—finishing lunch and getting ready for free play—an emergency alert from the city suddenly sounded throughout the campus. This time, there was no prompt from the Learning Facilitators. The learners immediately knew what to do. They quietly went under the tables and stayed there while waiting for further instructions.
Even after being told that this was not a drill, no one panicked or cried. We were incredibly proud to see learners from Waterfall to Rainforest calmly applying what they had practiced. It reminded us why these drills matter: when an unexpected situation happens, practice can turn into readiness. They were prepared!

Ready to Win… and Ready to Lose –
Rainforest also reached another milestone this week as we finally wrapped up the Rainforest Cup!
Finishing the Cup was not as easy as we expected. The real purpose was never simply to find out who would become the champion. Throughout our Teamwork unit, the Cup became an opportunity for the children to develop teamwork, resilience, and most importantly, sportsmanship.
The first time we tried to bring the competition to an end, some learners found it difficult to accept that there would be no more chances to earn points. There were tears and requests for “one more chance.” We realized then that perhaps they were not quite ready to finish yet.
So we gave the learning more time.
This week felt different. Everyone was excited to finally discover the champion. And when the results were announced, something wonderful happened: they were okay. They congratulated one another, accepted the result, and ended the Rainforest Cup together with smiles.

That was when we knew—the biggest achievement was not the trophy or the final score. It was seeing how much the children had grown along the way.

Whether it is knowing what to do during an unexpected situation or learning how to celebrate a win and accept a loss, our learners showed us something important this week:
They’re ready. They’re prepared.
