We are Risk-takers- Aurora(April 27-May1)

Hello Parents and friends,

We started the week cheerfully, warmly welcoming all students with smiles. It has been wonderful to see how quickly they are settling into their new class environment. We can already feel their growing comfort and confidence, as many students have begun communicating more openly and verbally with their teachers. This positive progress is a joy to witness, and we are proud of how well they are adapting each day.

Carp Streamers for Children’s Day

In celebration of the upcoming Children’s Day, Ms. Sayuri introduced the meaning behind this special occasion. Following the discussion, the students created their own carp streamers. Each student chose two colors to represent their parents and used them in their designs. They carefully drew the eyes on colored construction paper and decorated their streamers with a variety of tapes, exploring different colors and patterns.

The students showed great open-mindedness and creativity throughout the activity, and they especially enjoyed sharing ideas and materials with their friends.

Letter A Tracing

We reviewed the letter A and explored words that begin with this letter. The students participated in an action and guessing game, trying to identify different “A” words, such as alligator, airplane, ant, and ambulance and they thoroughly enjoyed the activity. Afterwards, they practiced tracing and coloring pictures of words that start with the letter A, reinforcing their learning in a fun and engaging way.

The students made a thoughtful effort to hold their crayons correctly, often asking the teacher to check their grip. They were open-minded and responded positively to guidance and showed appreciation when their teachers helped them adjust their technique.

Climbing with confidence!

As risk-takers, the Aurora students were excited to begin officially playing on the play structures. While some children initially felt a bit nervous about climbing, they showed great determination and did their best to reach the top.

They were able to follow instructions before playing, demonstrating good listening and safety awareness. As they practiced, they gained confidence, felt proud of their achievements, and eagerly repeated the experience many times.

Park Day

The weather was perfect on our park day. The students enjoyed being in nature as they moved their bodies and explored the surroundings. Their smiles were evident as they ran, raced with friends, searched for insects, and admired the blooming flowers around them. We truly had a wonderful day together.

Students expressing their feelings thru facial expression and gestures

During afternoon circle time, we reviewed the classroom rules and asked the students which ones they were able to follow today. Each student chose a flashcard, showed it to their classmates, and said the corresponding rule aloud.
