Our students recently showcased their understanding of science through engaging presentations on their water cycle models. It was a wonderful opportunity for them to demonstrate not only their knowledge but also their confidence in sharing their ideas with others.

During their presentations, students clearly explained how the water cycle works, describing key processes such as evaporation, condensation, and precipitation. Using their models as visual aids, they guided their audience through each stage, helping everyone understand how water continuously moves through our environment.

Overall, it was inspiring to see the students take ownership of their learning. Their presentations reflected curiosity, creativity, and a growing awareness of the world around them. We are proud of their efforts and look forward to seeing their continued growth as young inquirers. 💧

Students engaged in a hands-on experiment to better understand how thermometers work. Using simple materials, they created their own version of a thermometer with a glass bottle filled with equal amounts of water and alcohol. A straw was inserted into the bottle, and the opening was sealed with clay to hold it in place.

Students carefully observed what happened to the red liquid inside the straw when the bottle was placed in different conditions. When placed in hot water, the liquid rose up the straw. When the bottle was moved into ice-cold water, the liquid fell back down.

Through this experiment, students concluded that the liquid inside a thermometer expands when heated and contracts when cooled. This important concept helps us understand how thermometers measure temperature in our daily lives. The activity encouraged curiosity, observation, and critical thinking as students connected their experiment to real-world applications.

In English, students focused on developing essential reading and writing skills that support their understanding across subjects. They practiced skimming to identify the main idea in a topic sentence and scanning to locate specific information in a text. These strategies helped students become more efficient and purposeful readers.

To build vocabulary in an engaging way, students worked collaboratively to unshuffle letters and discover the vocabulary words of the day. This team-based activity encouraged communication, problem-solving, and active participation.

In writing, students applied their learning by composing one to two paragraphs about the water cycle. They were guided to include a clear topic sentence, relevant supporting details, and a meaningful conclusion or reflection. Attention was also given to writing mechanics, such as grammar, punctuation, and organization. Through this task, students strengthened their ability to express their understanding clearly and effectively in written form.
